Investment in Pre-Media Infrastructure and Remote Access
Healeys has invested £75,000 in an upgrade and overhaul of it’s Pre-Media Department.
New servers will give faster processing power and the possibility for greater throughput. The Heidelberg Prinect software upgrades give the latest JDF functionality for the complete pre media system, ensuring compatability with current front end applications and Adobe PDF formats with processing via the latest Adobe PDF Print Engine release.
Colour management will be made more efficient with the latest version of Prinect Color Toolbox software, allowing monitoring of proof, press and digital output with simple corrections available if standards are not being achieved. Two new Epson 7900 proofers, one set up for coated and one for uncoated stocks, with onboard spectrophotometer will allow each proof to be automatically checked for ISO12647 compliance. Even archiving will be improved with the inclusion of two 5 x 3Tb NAS units, giving fast storage and retrieval of archived jobs via the integral Prinect Archive System.
Philip Dodd, MD, commented “The forthcoming XL75 installation is going to place more workload on the Pre-Media department. Make ready times on the XL are just so fast more plates will be needed in less time. This substantial overhaul will allow the business to maximise the benefit of such a productive press.”
Kelly Harris, Sales and Marketing Director added “Together with Remote Access, ISO12647, normalised lighting throughout the building and colour calibrated Eizo monitors Healeys’ Pre-Media can now rightly claim to be one of the very best equipped in the industry.”
