We are proud to say that we are the first! SME printer to have our Science Based Targets accepted and are looking forward to a cleaner, more responsible future where we do all that we can to minimise our carbon emissions.
Working with the Science Based Targets Initiative and CarbonCo we have established a 2020 carbon baseline and have targeted a 42% reduction in carbon output by 2030 to support the goals of the Paris Agreement.
As manufacturers, the environment and the impact of our operations are high on our agenda. With the installation of energy efficient equipment and hybrid or electric vehicles, we seek to minimise the carbon produced. However there remains an amount of carbon produced and in 2013 Healeys made a strategic decision to balance or offset this production output.
By becoming one of the first Carbon Balanced Publication Printers in the UK we committed to balancing all our production and own-transport as well as using carbon balanced paper – all from sustainable sources.
We work with the World Land Trust who purchase and manage endangered forest and areas of important biodiversity throughout the world.
Sir David Attenborough, patron of the World Land Trust said:
“The money that is given to the World Land Trust, in my opinion, has more effect on the wild world than almost anything I can think of”
