Environmental Mailer Utilises Many Techniques and Brings New Opportunities

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Healeys recently produced a highly specified and unusual mailer to promote its Carbon Balancing services that was sent to 2,000 customers and prospects.

Rather than producing a standard piece of print, it was decided to use a specification which highlighted many creative possibilities:

• Two different materials duplexed together – dark grey and white Fabriano giving a combined weight of 560gsm.
• Under printed two hits of white before printing 4 colour, both with the litho process. This gives the image more lift and brightness without being compromised by the dark grey Fabriano material underneath.
• Reverse produced on Heidelberg Linoprint with digitally printed salutation and Healeys contact fields different on every card.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As with all work printed on house material, the whole job was carbon balanced through The World Land Trust which offset 78kg of CO2 and saved 6.55 square metres of endangered rainforest.

A usual enquiry rate for a mailer would be less than 1%.  The highly specialised nature of this mailer has resulted in a much greater 5%.  Kelly Harris, sales and marketing director commented “We are delighted with the success of this mailer and look forward to similar interest with our forthcoming mailers which will also feature unusual techniques and processes.”
